My Story

Callie Stolz is the heart and soul of Santosha Healing Arts and Retreats. It is her dream in the making...a fusion of her experiences through yoga, holistic health and healing, travels and her adventures along the way. Essentially, it is Callie's way in which she is able to share those things with others she has found inspiring, healing and simply...so much fun.

Callie’s love of yoga began to grow 10 years ago in Bozeman, Montana where she began to see the benefits of her practice in rehabilitating herself back to health after a snowboarding accident and facing some other serious health opportunities. In the spring of 2004 Callie pursued her passion for yoga at the Sivananda Ashram in Northern California where she was certified to teach a traditional form of Hatha yoga. Since then she has continued her learning and growing process through more yoga teacher trainings and workshops in Baja, Montana, Southern California and India. Today she enjoys teaching a style of yoga that has deep roots in traditional hatha yoga incorporating the alignment principles and heart centered foundation of Anusara, while blending in the flow of a Vinyasa practice.

In the spring of 2007 Callie moved to San Diego to continue her education in holistic health and healing through the International Professional School of Bodywork. She completed her massage therapy program in June of 2008, specializing in therapeutic massage utilizing neuromuscular therapy and deep tissue techniques, as well as Thai massage. Over the past year and a half Callie has also been studying, and continues to study, Ayurveda via a distance learning program through the California College of Ayurveda. In her pursuit to quench her ever growing thirst for knowledge in the world of holistic health and healing and her love of travel, January through April of 2008 she set off to Asia. She furthered her studies of yoga and Ayurveda in India, where she studied with an Ayurvedic doctor and several amazing yoga teachers, as well as continued her studies of Thai Massage in Thailand.

Callie's love of travel and enjoying the outdoors also led her into the Adventure Travel field. She spent eight years guiding multi-sport adventure vacations all over Western United States and Canada for Austin Lehman Adventures, as well as wearing many other hats for the company including trip developer and operations manager. Throughout those years Callie spent her winter seasons on the slopes where she became a level III (PSIA/AASI fully certified) snowboard instructor, clinician and a level I examiner. Her snowboard instructing career began in Big Sky, Montana in 1998. After a few years of teaching at Big Sky Resort Callie went on to instruct and guide at the Yellowstone Club (in Big Sky) for another 7 years, where she currently teaches.

Callie believes it is essential to honor one’s body, mind and spirit in order to bring one’s state of being into balance. She currently enjoys helping others reach this goal through her work as a yoga teacher, a massage therapist and a snowboard instructor. Ultimately, she enjoys sharing all of these opportunities for growing, learning and enjoying life through guiding adventure wellness retreats, as she integrates her passions to create a beautiful and empowering experience for others in search of a similar pursuit of wellness and adventure.
